Character Bio
George Orwell (1903-1950)

George Orwell (1903-1950), like Chesterton, was a novelist and an essayist. He is best known as the author of 1984 and Animal Farm. The show is set in 1946 as Orwell contemplates his (at that point) less than thriving career. He also contemplates the issues that led him to write the books that would soon make him famous. The heart of the show concerns his life between the mid-1920s and the end of World War II. Unrehearsed questions and answers may one day be a regular part of this show. He will be performing as Orwell this summer for the Maryland Humanities Council.
